The Israeli occupation army continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 220th day, leaving more martyrs and injured, as the bombing focused in the last hours on the city of Rafah, south of Gaza, and forcing the residents of the Jabalia camp in the north to leave after the occupation expanded its operations there.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed today, Monday, in a post on the X platform that the Israeli bombing and displacement orders in northern Gaza “led to more displacement and fear for thousands of families.”
Palestinian sources reported that there were martyrs and wounded as a result of intense Israeli raids that targeted homes in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, and Gaza City and the Jabalia camp in the north.
Israeli occupation vehicles are trying to penetrate the center of Jabalia camp amid fierce clashes with resistance factions, while the occupation forces opened heavy fire on shelter centers in the camp.
A number of citizens were injured in the artillery shelling that targeted various areas in the camp, coinciding with the bombing of crowded residential areas in Block 2 and Block 4 of the camp by occupation warplanes.
The occupation forces targeted ambulances trying to move inside the camp to reach the injured.
In this context, the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) confirmed today, Monday, the death of four citizens, including a child, when the occupation warplanes bombed a house in the Brazil neighborhood, southeast of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
A female citizen was also martyred, and others were injured, in the bombing by occupation warplanes on a house in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, according to Wafa.
Martyrdom of a leader in the "Democratic Front"
On Monday, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine announced the martyrdom of a member of its political bureau, Talal Abu Zarifa, when he was in a house south of Gaza City that was bombed by the occupation.
The Front said, in a press statement, that Abu Zarifa “was martyred while leading the resistance against the barbaric Israeli invasion in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, and comrade Mahmoud Hamami was also martyred alongside him.”
Local sources, citing eyewitnesses, reported that Abu Zarifa was martyred, along with 3 other people, in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, late on Sunday evening.
The air strikes targeted the city of Rafah in the far south of the Strip near the border with Egypt, which currently has a population of 1.4 million people, according to the United Nations, most of whom were displaced due to bombing and fighting in other parts of Gaza.
Early last week, the Israeli occupation army called on residents of the eastern neighborhoods of Rafah to leave after weeks of threatening to launch a ground operation that Tel Aviv claims is necessary to eliminate the "last stronghold" of the Hamas movement.
Israeli tanks stormed some parts of the city and took control of the border crossing with Egypt as of last Tuesday, ignoring American and European warnings about the fate of civilians.
The occupation continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since the seventh of last October, which resulted in the death of 35,034 citizens, most of them children and women, and the injury of 78,755 others, in a non-final toll published by the Ministry of Health in Gaza yesterday, Sunday.
