27 houses were damaged by a tornado in Central Lombok : Indonesia

Based on reports received from the NTB Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in Mataram, Tuesday, a tornado hit 15 villages in six sub-districts in Central Lombok Regency.

"As a result of the tornado, the roofs of residents' houses were damaged and trees fell in several places," said Head of BPBD NTB Ahmadi in Mataram, Tuesday.

He said the villages affected by the tornado were Ketare, Tanak Awu and Sukadana Villages in Pujut District. Then Sasake Village in Praya District.

Next in Labulia Village, Bunkate Village, Jelantik Village, Batutulis Village in Jonggat District. Then Pandan Tinggang Village, Batu Jangkih Village and Serage Village, in Southwest Praya District.

Apart from that, the impact of the tornado also occurred in Kabul Village and Preparation Awang Village in West Praya District. Next are Semparu Village and Prako Village in East Praya District.

"So there are 27 houses or 27 heads of families (KK) who were affected by the tornado disaster. As for the dead, injured and missing, there are none," said Ahmadi. 

According to him, currently the condition of residents in the six sub-districts has returned to being conducive. However, he appealed to the public to remain alert to the potential for hydrometeorological disasters, such as heavy rain accompanied by strong winds which can occur suddenly and locally, then floods and landslides.

"We appeal to all the people of NTB, because now we have entered the rainy season and some are still in the transition period, the community needs to be aware of potential disasters such as heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that can occur suddenly, floods and landslides," said Ahmadi.
