Dr. Oksana Drabkina, chief physician specializing in medical practice and treatment at the Russian Ministry of Health, provides advice in this regard, noting the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
She says: “Not smoking, refraining from drinking alcohol, practicing physical activity, eating at least 400 grams of vegetables and fruits daily, and reducing salt consumption, reduces the risk of death from all causes by 39 percent, and from circulatory diseases by 36 percent.
The incidence of cardiovascular disease increased by 19 percent. The results of other studies indicate that not following a healthy lifestyle increases the risk of early death by 78 percent, and that genetic factors can increase this risk by 21 percent.
The doctor points out that 60 percent of deaths due to genetic factors can be prevented by following a healthy lifestyle.
