A mass fight between Thais and transgender pilipinos

The Sukhumvit area, the "red pleasure zone" in the Thai capital, Bangkok, witnessed the outbreak of a fight between two groups of Thais and transgender Pilipinos, leaving a number of injuries.

Thai police said on Tuesday that several transgender people arrived from the Philippines on 30-day tourist visas and checked into hotels in the Sukhumvit 11 area.

The police indicated that they are checking whether their visas are still valid and whether they are working illegally.

According to the police, the incident began with a dispute between three from the Philippines and two from Thailand, and after they were separated, they confronted again outside a seafood restaurant in the Sukhumvit 5 area, and the quarrel broke out between them again.

Then they met again in the Sukhumvit 11 area, and their number had become 15 Pilipinos and six Thais, and the fight broke out again, causing the Thais to be injured, and they rushed to file a complaint at the Lumpini Police Station.

When Lumpini police arrived at the hotel to take two transgender Pilipinos to the police station, another fight broke out immediately after they left the hotel, and another person was injured.

A Thai transgender “woman” at the Lumpini Police Station said, “Some Pilipinas checked out of their hotels and left the country on Tuesday morning.” She added, “Pilipina transwomen recently rented rooms in the area, and they often stood outside in front of the hotels in a way that made everyone understand what they were doing.”

She continued: "Pilipino women were insulting the Thai trans women who passed in front of their hotels, and the police could see this for themselves through surveillance camera recordings."
