A nutrition expert explains why it is not possible to completely avoid eating sugar

Many people seek to give up sugar in order to improve the appearance and fitness of their bodies, but it is unlikely that a person will be able to completely exclude glucose from his diet, because it is found in many foods.

Dr. Yelena Solomatina, a Russian nutrition expert, points out that sugar enters the human body not only in the form of manufactured sweets, but also in the form of carbohydrates, vegetables, or fruits.

“Even if we eliminate refined sugar, biscuits, candy, sweet pastries or white bread from the diet, glucose will enter the body from porridge, pasta, potatoes, whole grains, milk or sauces,” she says.

According to her, practically everything a person eats contains sugar, except for meat and fats. But a person cannot rely on it alone. Therefore, to maintain his health, he must eat a balanced diet. That is, it is not possible to completely abandon foods containing sugar.

She says: “But sugar consumption can be reduced, and then the person will feel better, because many “problems” appear due to an increase in the level of glucose in the blood. For example, cardiovascular disease - in this case, sugar first destroys the lining of the blood vessels, and then begins Glycation process: Excess glucose sticks to collagen, which affects the health of the joints, eyes, and skin condition, and may also cause dementia.

The expert points out that all of these problems are caused by the high level of sugar in the diet.
According to her, everyone should gradually give up sugar, especially people who suffer from diabetes, insulin resistance, overweight and obesity, and atherosclerosis.

The expert recommends accustoming the child to a sugar-free diet from a young age, so that he does not have a strong desire to eat sweets in adulthood and thus the possibility of him suffering from incurable diseases becomes small.
