Malaysia Airlines reported on Monday that one of its flights bound for Bangkok was forced to return to Kuala Lumpur International Airport today after discovering a “pressure problem.”
She said that the pilots initiated an emergency landing even though the cabin pressure had not been exceeded and the passengers' oxygen masks had not been lowered.
The airline added in an official statement that the plane remained stable and landed safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport more than two hours after take-off.
Meanwhile, a Malaysia Airlines spokesman said that flight MH780 was carrying 164 passengers and 12 crew members.
The same spokesman confirmed that the investigation into the causes of the accident is still ongoing.
