A simple exercise trick to lose weight

Losing weight requires strenuous practices such as going to the gym regularly and adhering to a strict diet, which can be difficult given the stressful demands of daily life.
Fortunately, studies suggest that there are some accessible ways to stay active and promote weight loss.

Various studies have found that walking for just 30 minutes a day can reduce body fat, but it is not just about walking when thinking about losing weight. Rather, there is a simple trick that can play a major role in achieving this goal.

"The intensity of walking plays a major role in helping your body burn more calories and improving your cardio-respiratory system," Denise Miklasz, a personal trainer at Northwestern Medicine Crystal Lake Health and Fitness Center in Illinois, tells PopSugar.

Miklasz recommends adding 30 to 60 seconds of brisk walking every three to five minutes, followed by a 30-second cool-down.

She added that lifting weights or walking uphill may help you achieve your fitness goals faster.

Whether you stick to exercise or not, walking is an effective weight loss strategy with health benefits, such as lower blood pressure, improved mood, increased bone strength and improved digestion, Good Housekeeping reports.
