AA urges Muslim community to oppose militia law : Myanmar

On March 2, the Rakhine Army (AA) urged the Muslim community in Rakhine State to protest against the Military Council's military service law in order to build a peaceful, progressive and united country.

The military council is trying to use all means to force the Muslim community in Rakhine to serve in the military by flaunting the militia law they enacted. Whenever there is a political crisis, the Rakhine and Muslim communities in Rakhine state are divided into ethnic, It is also mentioned in the statement that they often fight to cause religious conflict.

Doing this is a big threat to the peaceful coexistence of the two communities in Rakhine.

He said that ULA/AA has made efforts to create social harmony and co-existence among the different communities in the region since the establishment of administrative activities in the Rakhine region, and there have been positive results.

In this situation, the military council is trying to force the Muslim community to serve in the military by using the militia law, which is not only pushing ordinary people to death, but also trying to destroy the future stability and development of the Rakhine region.

This conscription law will only lead to a long-lasting conflict between the two communities in the Rakhine region, and will further distance the refugees from returning home, he said.

Some individuals and organizations in the Muslim community want political and economic self-interest. He also wrote that it is sad to see that they are taking advantage of the Military Council's conscription and gathering weapons and manpower to carry out attacks on the civilian population in the region, with ethnic hatred and radical beliefs. It also warned that these actions are an act of aggression against AA and an effort to cause more bloodshed.

As AA, people living in Rakhine region, It also wrote in the statement that it is trying to get equal citizenship and human rights for all religions, and it is recommended that the Muslim community stand on the right side.
