After a pig's head was found next to a mosque in France, the Minister of the Interior condemns violations against Muslims

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin on Sunday denounced attempts to insult the Islamic religion and Muslims after the head of a wild boar was found near a mosque in eastern France.

Dramanan described targeting the mosque in this way as an “unacceptable act” against Muslims, and noted on Saturday that two mosques in northern France had also been “desecrated.”

He added in a post on the “X” platform: “At the end of the week, two mosques were desecrated in Valenciennes and Fresnes-sur-Esco. A mosque was also targeted in Vosges.”

He added in his post: “I firmly condemn these unacceptable actions against our Muslim compatriots, which coincide with the month of Ramadan.”

A French public prosecutor said that an investigation had been opened into "inciting racial hatred" after worshipers were discovered in the mosque of the village of Cotrexevi in the Hog's Head Vosges region last Friday.

This came after worshipers in the French city of Contrexville found a pig's head near the mosque last Friday, and French media reported that the authorities had opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of the incident.
