We are engaged in fierce clashes near Al-Shifa Hospital

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced that it was engaged in fierce clashes with forces from the Israeli occupation army near Al-Shifa Hospital, confirming that it had caused deaths and injuries.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Hamas movement, said on Monday that it was engaged in fierce clashes with invading Israeli forces near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

The Brigades stated in a post on the Telegram platform that they “have been waging fierce clashes since Monday dawn with enemy forces penetrating near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, targeting a number of Zionist vehicles, causing deaths and injuries among their ranks.”

Since dawn on Monday, an Israeli occupation army force has continued to storm the medical complex, despite the presence of thousands of patients, wounded, and displaced people inside.

The Hebrew Channel 13 (private) claimed earlier Monday that the raid began after “information was received about the presence of senior officials from the Hamas movement in the Shifa complex.”

It reported that "80 Palestinians were arrested from the hospital, a soldier was slightly injured, and there is no information about the presence of kidnappers (Israeli detainees) in the place."

This is the second time that Israeli forces have stormed the complex, since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023. They stormed it on November 16, after besieging it for a week, then withdrew from it after 8 days, during which its courtyards and parts were destroyed. Of its buildings and medical equipment, in addition to the electricity generator.

The Israeli war on Gaza left tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, massive destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, which led to Israel appearing for the first time since its establishment in 1948, before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”
