Airbus has unveiled a model of a distinctive electric aircraft that will be used for civil transport purposes in the future.
Airbus indicated that the future CityAirbus NextGen aircraft was designed to emit very low levels of noise during take-off and landing, as noise levels will not exceed 65 decibels, which will make it a distinctive means of transportation within cities.
This vehicle is considered somewhat large compared to the " flying taxi " vehicles that appeared previously, as it weighs approximately two tons, and has a wingspan of 12 metres. It is also equipped with four seats for the driver and passengers, 16 electric motors, and 8 propellers mounted on the tail and wings, and it is supposed to be able to fly. It has a speed of 120 km, and its batteries are enough to cover 80 km on a single charge.
Airbus indicated that it will begin testing the CityAirbus NextGen model later this year, and that the new vehicle will be a distinctive means of transportation for eco-tourism, and will also be used as a means of transporting passengers and goods as well.
