The French army is only prepared for "safari" trips in Africa

Former Pentagon advisor, retired US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor, said that the only thing the French army can do is “safari trips in Africa,” not confronting Russian forces in Ukraine.

This came in an interview with journalist Stephen Gardner on his YouTube channel, where the retired colonel continued to describe Macron as “a player who is not serious in all of this,” stressing that France has nothing to send, as the French army, in the words of McGregor: “It is an ultra-light force designed to operate in North Africa.” He said: “As my friend, a retired French army officer, says, the French army is designed for safaris in Africa.”

Colonel MacGregor continued that the British Army was even smaller and less capable and perhaps “could provide emergency relief services or suppress riots in Belfast, and that is all it could do.” MacGregor concluded that Europe had no power to speak of.

MacGregor stressed that the only power Europe had was the German army, which had been completely dismantled, and it would take years to recover from the damage inflicted on its forces over the past 20-25 years.

He continued: "To be frank, NATO is deceiving, and we (in the United States) are a big part of that, because we have nothing to send. As for the Russians, they are completely clear. They have made it clear to us that if we attack them, if they attack (NATO) ) Russia, in any form, in any form, (NATO) will be at war with Russia.”

French President Emmanuel Macron said after a conference in support of Ukraine, held in Paris last Monday, on his initiative, that those attending the conference discussed the possibility of sending soldiers to Ukraine, but they did not reach a consensus on this matter.

The next day, the authorities of a number of European countries made statements denying their intention to send any military units to Ukraine, while the French side tried, on Tuesday evening, to clarify the situation, as French Foreign Minister Stéphane Ségornet claimed that the presence of Western military personnel in Ukraine does not mean complicity in the conflict. . Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu also said that there is no talk of war with Russia, and that the West is thinking about how to help the Kiev authorities in another way, which is "absolutely normal."
