An American intelligence officer reveals how Washington planned the Ukrainian coup and its goal

Retired American intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the United States planned to carry out the coup in Ukraine in 2014 in order to provoke war with Russia and harm its capabilities.

Ritter added in an interview on YouTube, "The resigned US Deputy Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, throughout her political career did not care about diplomatic solutions, and was always involved in secret operations inside Ukraine aimed at destabilizing Russia."

He continued: “Now, when talking about how this crisis (war) broke out between Russia and Ukraine, we realize very well that it started because Nuland wanted it to. She started it to weaken Russia and create the appropriate conditions to destroy its economy.”

Ritter explained that to achieve the aforementioned goals, the 2014 coup was organized in Ukraine and then cells belonging to the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) were deployed throughout the country.

He pointed out that 12 American intelligence bases were supposed to work to destabilize Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated earlier that the special military operation in Ukraine would never have been launched if the 2014 coup had not occurred, noting that NATO had worked over the years to expand its infrastructure on Ukrainian territory to turn it into a state hostile to Russia.

He added that to prevent the establishment of such a military foothold, Russia is conducting a special operation to demilitarize Ukraine.
