During the World Defense Show, which is taking place in Riyadh, the company’s director of export affairs said: “Production of the Russian-Indian BrahMos-NG winged missiles is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025.”
He added: “We are currently working on constructing a large factory in India dedicated to the serial production of BrahMos-NG missiles, and between next March and April we will have completed the construction of the buildings, and it is planned to install the equipment, operate and start production by the end of 2025 - beginning of 2026.”
The company's CEO, Atul Rane, also said last year that "the company is supposed to start producing its new generation of missiles at the end of 2025."
The BrahMos missiles were developed within the framework of the joint Russian-Indian project BrahMos Aerospace, as a modified version of the Russian “Onyx” naval missiles. The first version of these missiles was tested in 2001, and various versions were also launched, some reaching speeds of 3,430 km/h. These missiles are used Currently in the Air, Land and Navy of India.
In 2021, the Indian Air Force began testing a modified version of these missiles that can be used with Sukhoi fighter jets, and have the ability to hit targets 300 km away.
An expert reveals the silent submarine mission in Kamchatka
A source in the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the defense systems of Kamchatka will be reinforced with silent submarines - diesel submarines of Project 636.3.
According to military expert Dmitry Boltenkov, the first submarine of this type has already arrived in Vilyuchinsk and is conducting training for future stationing on the peninsula.
He says the primary mission of the versatile submarines will be "to ensure the deployment and sailing of strategic naval missile carriers, and to prevent the Americans from intercepting our strategic cruiser."
He explains: “The submarine brigade was previously located in Kamchatka, but at the beginning of the last decade it was disbanded, and the submarines were transferred to Primorye. It seems that they now want to return to this region again, for sailors to train in a new theater of war operations.”
He adds: “The characteristics of Project 636.3 submarines are well suited for this mission. They have good driving characteristics and are equipped with a variety of weapons.”
