Argentine President Javier Milei has extended an invitation to Pope Francis to visit Argentina, signaling a reconciliatory gesture after engaging in critical remarks towards the Catholic leader in previous years. This move appears to be aimed at garnering support for the libertarian reforms Milei has put forth in Congress. Despite previously referring to the pope in disparaging terms, such as calling him an "imbecile" and the devil's man on earth, Milei adopted a more conciliatory tone following his election in November. In a letter dated January 8, Milei respectfully addressed Pope Francis as "Holy Father."
