Police said the truck driver was shot and “neutralised” by armed civilians in the area.

They are investigating a possible motive but suspect it was a terror attack, The Times of Israel reports.

The attack happened outside an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) base in Glilot.

A bus had reportedly stopped at the station outside the base to drop off passengers when the truck rammed into the stop, and those waiting there.

Israeli emergency services said in a statement: “At 10:08 AM, a report was received in MDA’s 101 Emergency Call Center in the Yarkon Region of a truck hitting a bus stop on Aharon Yariv Boulevard in Ramat Hasharon.

“MDA EMTs and Paramedics are currently providing medical treatment on site to dozens of casualties.

“Among the injured: 4 in serious condition, 2 in moderate condition, and 4 in mild condition.”
