AT LEAST two people have been killed and a further 23 wounded following a knife rampage at a hospital in China.
State media have not specified the nature of the attack but confirmed it took place in Zhenxiong County People’s Hospital in southwestern Yunnan province’s northeast.
Reports claim the incident took place at a local hospital at 1.20pm local time (5.20am GMT).
“The incident occurred at a local hospital and as of 1:20 pm (0520 GMT)… more than 10 people have been wounded or killed,” state news agency Xinhua said.
Images published by the state-run news site The Paper show a man holding a knife in the hospital lobby.
Another can be seen attempting to defend himself with a large pole.
The Guizhou TV post claim that a suspect has been arrested.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
