Attacks kill at least 113 people in central Nigeria

Over a hundred people have been killed in central Nigeria in a series of attacks on villages, amid religious and ethnic tensions. The attacks were carried out by well-coordinated military gangs, locally known as bandits, who targeted over 20 different communities. The violence spread from the Bokkos area to Barkin Ladi, resulting in 30 additional deaths. Northwest and central Nigeria have long been plagued by bandit militias, operating from forest bases and terrorizing villages through looting and kidnapping for ransom.
