A BARRAGE of rockets has been fired US forces at Iraq’s Ain al-Asad air base on Saturday, American officials have said.
It is understood the base, home to US forces in western Iraq, was attacked with 20 missiles, Iraqi sources claim.
The reported attack took place on Saturday and is said to have left Iraqi officials ‘seriously injured’[/caption]Initial reports added members of Iraq’s security forces were left “seriously injured”.
American personnel at the airbase also reportedly suffered minor injuries.
US officials are yet to determine whether the attack was made by missiles or rockets despite the claims from Iraqi sources.
