Former president Jair Bolsonaro’s rightwing party led Brazil's municipal elections, narrowly edging out leftist candidate Guilherme Boulos in Sao Paulo. Outgoing mayor Ricardo Nunes secured 29.4% of votes, while Boulos gained 29%. Populist outsider Pablo Marcal, finishing third with 28.1%, was eliminated. A second round of voting is set for October 27, election officials confirmed.
