Amid high anticipation of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approving the spot Bitcoin ETF applications, the ETFs from two of the 11 ETF applicants, WisdomTree and VanEck, have been listed on the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). This comes just 48 hours before the SEC’s deadline to take a decision on the Ark 21Shares Bitcoin ETF filing.

WisdomTree, VanEck ETFs Listed On DTCC
On Monday, January 8, 2024, WisdomTree and VanEck have added their lsitings on DTCC and are ready for clearance. VanEck has been listed with the ticker $HODL whereas WisdomTree has added with the ticker $BTCW. Earlier, CoinGape reported that the Bitwise spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) has been listed for clearance with the DTCC with the ticker $BITB.
However, this does not necessarily mean indication of any regulatory clearance, amid the pending approval from the US SEC. Previously, the spot Bitcoin ETFs of BlackRock, Fidelity, and Invesco Galaxy have also been added to the DTCC list.
Bitcoin ETF: Approval Or Delay?
Fears over chances of the US SEC delaying the approval of Bitcoin ETF were triggered with the agency officials issuing additional comments on the form S-1s. However, analysts believe these are mere regulatory compulsions and have nothing to do with decision making in terms of approval. Earlier, CoinGape reported the comments from people associated with the ETF filers, who said the SEC has not informed them of any change in plans.
