Brit family’s agony as Hamas released sick vid showing hostage’s brother ‘shot in back of head’ in brutal execution

A HEARTBROKEN British family has shared the harrowing moments they saw a sick video of their loved one being taunted by Hamas before he was brutally executed.

The family of Yossi Sharabi, 53, who was snatched away by gunmen on October 7, was left horrified after watching a twisted clip staged to show hostages participating in a warped “game show.”

After 24 hours of agony, their worst fears were confirmed by the release of a second horror video that confirmed Yossi was executed by the bloodthirsty terror group.

Yossi’s brother, Eli, 51, the husband of Lianne, 48, who was murdered by the terrorists in her own home in Kibbutz Be’eri alongside her daughters, remains hostage by the terror group.

Eli’s brother-in-law Stephen Brisley who came across the video on Telegram told the Sun how the horrific video was staged to look like a sick “game show.”

He was part of a small group of families of hostages who spoke at a press conference in London following meetings with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and a visit to the Embassy of Qatar with the minister of state.

He told The Sun: “I only joined telegram a few weeks ago specifically for that, I follow some channels I would rather not follow purely because there’s information that comes out.

“The first video showed three hostages and was saying ‘which one is dead which one is injured, are all three dead, are all three alive? Vote now’ as if it was a game show.

“It was there to mentally torture us – and it succeeded. If I put an objective hat on it did exactly what they wanted.

“None of us slept- I’ve kept it from my parents because it’s not something they need to see.

” I felt I had to watch it – my whole life the past four months is to get any snippets of information from wherever I can.

” Much as it was a piece of propaganda it was very clearly Yossi in the video .

“The three of them were doing a piece to camera saying ‘you must stop the war, you’ve failed us.’

“I assumed it was filmed at some point in the past because they looked slightly better than in the second video – Yossi has less facial hair.

“In the second video was Noah Argamani saying Yoshi was killed in an airstrike and the other hostage was killed in an airstrike.

” The final 15-20 seconds of video was their corpses – their bodies were just lying on the floor.

“It’s very clear his body has not been subjected to a missile, has not been crushed by hundred tonnes of rubble.

“They show from the waist up and they show his face, there’s blood behind his head that’s not a man who died in an airstrike, that’s a man who was executed.” 

Stephen, from Bristol, said how his family remains desperate for answers for the whereabouts of Eli, exactly four months from the October 7 massacre.

The press conference was attended by the families of Eli Sharabi, Oded Lifschitz, Nadav Popplewell and another family member who called on the Government to repay their trust as “time is running out” to save their loved ones.

The group described the negotiations as a “failure of international diplomacy” and urged the Israeli government to agree to any deals currently on the table.

It comes after Hamas said in a statement that it responded in a “positive spirit” to the latest proposal for a ceasefire from the US and Middle East mediators.

Stephen continued: “In the hostage release deal in November, we assumed naively it was going to go on and on and everyone would come out.

“Then at the end of November, we thought there was going to be another deal.

“We never imagined we’d be in February and still no further deal.

“This is just the second deal- it has to be the final deal, the hostages will not survive another wait of two months, three months for another deal to be on the table.

“There’s no way they can survive the negotiations of another deal lasting weeks – whether that’s the result of airstrikes or executed or ill health and injury.”

Speaking at the press conference Stephen called for the immediate release of the hostages and said they put the “greatest trust possible in the UK and Qatari governments.”

He said:” There can be no greater trust to be given, taken or broken.

“You have to trust the UK Government will do all they can, and we will hold them to account for us putting that trust in them.

“So whilst we’re eternally grateful for the honour and privilege of meeting the Prime Minister and the minister of state for Qatar, we have to believe that they will succeed because time is running out and the price of failure has been writ large.”

Raz Matalon, brother-in-law of Eli paid tribute to his brother, a “wonderful person” and said: ” Yossi didn’t get a proper burial, he didn’t get a funeral and his body is held in Gaza.

” Eli I’m very sorry you’re still there, as the UK said we are doing everything they can to bring you home.

” We don’t want hostages to come back in coffins or not come home at all.”

Meanwhile, Sharone Lifschitz, whose elderly father Oded, 83, is still being kept captive by Hamas, said there was nothing stopping Hamas from releasing more hostages for humanitarian reasons.

Her brave mum Yocheved 85, was released after 16 days of “hell” at the hands of the terrorists as she was seen shaking hands with a Hamas fighter in a shocking video.

Sharone said her mum “is waiting impatiently” for Oded as “for the past 124 days she does not know if her husband of 63 years is still alive.”

She told the Sun: “We know he survived the October 7 and that he was seen alive and he was injured in his arm from a bullet that went through the door.

“We know after the first day he was for a period in a room with another hostage in Gaza.

“After that we do not know what happened to him – we do not have any update, any sign of life.

“I’m hoping there will be a deal between Israel and Hamas for the release of all the hostages.

“They should be released immediately – it is against any basic humanity to take elderly people from their houses and take them hostage.

“My mum was released without a deal and Hamas hold the ability to release anybody it wants without a deal.

“It does not need the elderly or the children in order to negotiate with Israel.”
