Brit man, 28, found dead near family holiday home in Portugal days after cops launch search with drones & sniffer dogs

A MISSING Brit has tragically been found dead near his family holiday home in Portugal.

Police spent the weekend searching for the 28-year-old man in a huge hunt involving drones and sniffer dogs after his relatives reported him missing on Friday.

Officials were searching around an area near the village of Saboia just above the Algarve in Portugal’s Alentejo region as they found the grim discovery of the man’s body.

A massive team of firefighters were all deployed to scour the area where the devastated family were staying when the man vanished.

The holiday home was in a quiet and rural area of Portugal next to a vast woodlands close to the banks of the famous Mira River.

The exact spot where the body was found is yet to be announced.

The results of the autopsy are unlikely to be publicly released but police sources said today the death was not believed to be crime-related.

Local reports said the British man, who is understood to have travelled to the holiday home every year, had unspecified “health problems.”

Village residents said he was not well-known in the area.
