Brit man found dead off Majorca coast after going diving near holiday resort Magaluf wearing just shorts and mask

A BRITISH man has been found dead wearing just his shorts and a mask after going diving off the coast of Majorca.

His body was pulled out of the sea near to the holiday resort of Magaluf with cops now investigating his death.

A Civil Protection boat uncovered the grim discovery before recovering his body and taking it to Santa Ponsa Yacht Club on Tuesday.

The local Civil Guard was informed at around 4pm as they launched an immediate probe into who the man was.

He is understood to have been in his 60s or 70s, according to well placed sources who also said he was British.

It is still unclear if the man was a tourist in Spain or if he lived on the island.

A police source said this afternoon: “The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.”

Officials are yet to say whether they have established drowning as cause of death.

They are still investigating if a previous health problem may have taken its toll before she got into difficulties.
