A BRITISH tourist has died at a hotel in northern Mexico after her husband found her unconscious.
Emergency responders rushed to the unnamed hotel in Creel, in the state of Chihuahua, but could not save her.
The woman’s husband, described locally as Irish, was reportedly the one to call for help and a translator assisted police at the scene.
Local media said the woman was 75 years old and her husband was 79.
No information about a possible cause of death has been made public; a post-mortem will soon take place.
The small mountain town of Creel, located some 175 kilometres, or a 3.5-hour drive, to the southwest of the state capital Chihuahua City, is surrounded by a patchwork of rugged canyons.
It is considered the gateway to Mexico’s Copper Canyon – one of the wildest and most beautiful regions in the country.
