Some women even alleged they had matched with Charles- who now allegedly goes by “Charlie” – on dating apps such as Bumble.
He is yet to respond to any of the claims against him.
And now, the London-born cook is believed to be working as a personal chef for Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, DailyMail.com reports.
Sheridan’s wife Nicole, 41, shared a clip of the missing cook and later deleted it.
But she wasn’t quick enough as a TikTok user copied it and reposted it online.
A spokesperson for Taylor Sheridan, 54, would neither confirm nor deny to DailyMail.com that Withers was working for him.
The Sun has approached Mr Sheridan’s team for comment.
The video surfaced in less than 24 hours since Charles’ wife – Ashley McGuire – posted her viral plea on Facebook.
Now that she’s found him, McGuire told TMZ she’s ready to go ahead with her divorce as her husband is now willing to sit down and talk.
Ready for divorce
The mum-of-two said she has become used to being a single parent in the year since he left.
However, MCGuire said getting a divorce with a man who tries to no longer exist is a tricky task.
She previously wrote: “Divorcing someone who’s completely unreachable is really tough and drawn out, so I’m trying to track him down to get his signatures on a few papers.
“If you know him, if you’re working with him, if you’re dating him or friends with him, can you please have him get in touch with me or let me know where I can find him.”
Speaking to her friend and radio presenter Ashlee Feldman on the JAM’N Morning Show on Monday, the single mum said that Charles has now texted her on an old number she had saved for him.
McGuire told the radio show that she now “just wants to move on” and explained why she removed the now-viral Facebook plea.
She said: “I don’t want any ties, I don’t want any connections, I just want the next chapter of my life to start.
“At the end of the day, he dipped. He took off.”
“I truly mean what I said, I don’t have any ill will towards him,” she added.
“I did not intentionally make him the most hated man out there by any means.
“I hope he’s good. For somebody to turn their life this upside down, there’s obviously some internal struggles there, there’s a lot going on.
“But at the same time to just walk away from all responsibility, just walk away like it never happened is just – you can’t do that.”
McGuire continued: “You need to be held accountable. There needs to be some respect for the situation, and if you’re a guy out there who has somebody that’s taking care of your kids.
“You’re hands off, you’re not involved or vice versa if you’re a mom and you have a dad who’s taking care of your kids, have respect for them.”
Going AWOL
Charles Withers was rising to prominence in the culinary world as he was at the helm of two restaurants in Massachusetts before going MIA.
Withers reportedly checked in to a Boston-area rehab centre after abandoning the restaurant last summer, leaving behind both creditors and employees, DailyMail.com claims.
He also allegedly abandoned a second restaurant that he was set to launch before vanishing without a trace 12 months ago.
A former co-owner said: “He drove the business into the ground, then he just left.
“He owed me and my husband a lot of money. Then he just left.”
The co-owner alleges Withers had a “drug problem”, claiming they were contacted by his parents who “were doing an intervention, trying to save his life.”
