Britain intends to deliver Paveway IV laser-guided hover bombs to the Ukrainian army as part of a new batch of military aid.
The Telegraph reported that the Paveway IV bomb, which weighs 230 kg, uses both satellite navigation and laser guidance to hit targets with extreme accuracy.
The Royal Air Force used it for the first time in 2015 in Afghanistan, and the newspaper indicated that the bomb may become part of the weapons of the F-16 fighters that are expected to arrive in Ukraine next summer.
It should be noted that the Paveway IV is an American-made Mark 82 regular bomb equipped with control rudders and a modern guidance system.
One of its features is the possibility of choosing the detonator's operating system, which enables the bomb to explode above the target, in order to increase the area of infection of manpower, and there is a delay system after the strike that is used when hitting military fortifications.
According to information received from the media, dropping such a bomb could be achieved from a distance of more than 30 kilometers.
