British cyclist, 55, dies after being knocked off bike by car in Majorca motorway crash

A BRITISH cyclist has tragically died after being hit by a car in a horror accident in Majorca.

the man, 55, spent nearly three weeks in intensive care at Son Espases Hospital in Palma before he was declared dead yesterday.

He was knocked off his bike and left unconscious on the ground with severe head, chest and pelvic injuries around 7pm on June 29.

A “green light” alert was activated and a police escort was provided to rush the man to the hospital.

It is understood the Brit had been trying to cross a motorway near the seaside resort of Cala Major overlooking the Bay of Palma – an area off-limits to cyclists.

Cops soon launched an investigation into the accident, but so far have not reached any conclusion.
