“CAF” ends the controversy over the crisis in the match between Morocco’s RS Berkane and Algeria’s USM Algiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) resolved the controversy over the crisis in the match between Algeria's USM Algiers and Morocco's RS Berkane in the Confederation Cup semi-finals, and confirmed that the Moroccan team is the finalist.

Similar to the first leg, the return match, which was scheduled to be held last Sunday in the city of Berkane, was cancelled , due to the Algerian club USM Algiers’ protest against RS Berkane shirts that included a map of Morocco merged with Western Sahara.

After canceling the two matches, RS Berkane was considered the winner of the two-legged semi-final matches with a score of 3-0, but USM Algiers and the Algerian Football Federation appealed this decision to CAF and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

In a statement published on its website on Thursday, the Moroccan Football Federation confirmed that it had received a decision from the Club Committee of the Confederation of African Football regarding the second leg of the Confederation Cup semi-final between Morocco’s RS Berkane and Algeria’s USM Algiers, which held its meeting yesterday, Wednesday, where it unanimously decided the following among its members: :

– USM Algiers lost by three unanswered goals.

- Referring the match file to the Disciplinary Committee for possible additional disciplinary measures.
