'Change their tone': MTG scolds taunting Dems

Firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), chairwoman of the DOGE oversight subcommittee, did not appreciate the "tone" of some House Democrats who taunted President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the chairwoman herself at Wednesday's meeting.

Greene scolded them for their antics on social media, writing, "Unfortunately, some of the Democrats in today’s @DOGECommittee ignored waste, fraud, and abuse. Instead, they used their five minutes to attack President Trump, attack Elon Musk, and attack me. If they don’t change their tone, they are going to stay on the losing side of this issue."

One Democrat in particular, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), went way out on a limb to attack both Musk and Greene.

During the session, Garcia said, "Now, I find it ironic, of course, that our chairwoman, Congresswoman Greene, is in charge of running this committee. Now, in the last Congress, Chairwoman Greene literally showed a 'd--- pic' in our oversight congressional hearing. So, I thought I'd bring one as well."

Garcia then produced a poster-sized photo of Musk, continuing, "Now, this of course, we know, is President Elon Musk. He's also the world's richest man. He was the biggest political donor in the last election. He has billions of dollars in conflicts of interest."

Garcia doubled down on CNN when anchor Brianna Keilar asked, "Do you think that calling Elon Musk a 'd---' is effective messaging for confronting what is a potentially an irreversible transformation of the U.S. government?"

"Well, he is a d---," Garcia countered, "and I think he's also harming the American public in an enormous way."

Garcia then explained his reasoning for the spectacle.

"Marjorie Taylor Greene talks about having decorum, about bipartisanship. This is the person that lies more than anybody else in the entire Congress. And, so, if she is going to make a mockery of hearings, I want to make sure that us as Democrats are bringing that same level of energy," said Garcia.
