Changpeng Zhao Forecasts 2025 as a “Send It Year” for Binance and Crypto

Binance’s former CEO, Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao, has shared his 2025 expectations for the crypto market. In a Friday X post, the former Binance Chief asserted that 2025 would be a “send it year,” expressing excitement about crypto’s future.

Excitement Brews up in the Crypto Market

Crypto market participants often use the “send it year” phrase to express excitement when asset prices are soaring. The crypto community appears enthusiastic and has much to look forward to in 2025.

Importantly, the industry anticipates an unprecedentedly supportive regulatory environment under the incoming Donald Trump administration. Additionally, the market is on track to benefit from improving global liquidity as central banks continue quantitative easing efforts.

Moreover, institutional crypto adoption is expanding, as indicated by billions of inflows flooding the Bitcoin and Ethereum Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). At the same time, there is considerable demand for stocks of corporations like MicroStrategy, holding Bitcoin in their reserves.

Another major update in the market centers around discussions about establishing a Bitcoin strategic reserve by several countries. As disclosed in a CNF report, countries like Hong Kong and Germany are mulling the idea of creating a strategic Bitcoin reserve. The increasing attention on a Bitcoin reserve follows Trump’s victory in the November 2024 election.

These events have prompted researchers and analysts to target significantly higher crypto asset prices in 2025. Aligning with Zhao’s optimistic stance, financial research firm Steno Research predicted that 2025 will be crypto’s finest year yet. 

This forecast considers crypto an asset class that includes price appreciation, adoption, and institutional engagement. The firm set price targets of $150,000 and $8,000 for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

The firm also predicted altcoins to soar as supported anticipations of favorable regulations under Trump. Steno Research further predicted that the Total Value Locked (TVL) in DeFi protocols would hit a record high of $300 billion from current levels of about $123 billion.

Binance’s Latest Ecosystem Updates 

Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume, began 2025 with several growth initiatives. 

Per a CNF update, the exchange has received approval from the Central Bank of Brazil to acquire Sim;paul, a regulated broker-dealer license holder. The approval demonstrates Binance’s dedication to compliance and creative expansion of its offerings.

Before this development, Binance Labs, the venture capital arm of the exchange, disclosed intentions to embark on a rebrand in 2025. As CNF reported, Binance Labs plans to focus its investment on crypto/blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Biotech sectors. 

There is also an expectation that underperforming sectors, like gaming, ZK technologies, and privacy solutions, may transition from development to production. According to the report, former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao would lead and engage in investment projects.
