A CHEF died after being stung by a wasp as he laid a flower at his mum’s grave.

Marc Pavel suffered an allergic reaction and began having severe difficulty breathing as he drove home minutes later.

He was just yards from his house when he stopped his car and got out to seek help.

But he collapsed before he could find anyone.

Locals found Marc, 47, slumped on the ground and medics called to the scene found he had ­suffered a cardiac arrest, caused by anaphylaxis from the wasp sting.

They resuscitated him and took him to hospital in Trieste, Italy.

But his condition worsened and he fell into a coma before dying, four days after he was stung at the cemetery.

Marc, whose mum died in 2019, had won a local Cook of the Year award in 2012.
