THIS is the chilling moment a 14-year-old was seen texting pals just moments after she allegedly shot her mum dead.
Carly Gregg, now 15, even called her stepfather from her mother’s phone and lured him back home before allegedly attempting to kill him.
The chilling moment Gregg picked up his mum’s phone to text his pals after the horror killing[/caption] The teen girl is now pursuing an insanity defence after turning down a plea deal[/caption]CCTV footage from the house shows the girl casually walking around the house after allegedly firing shots at her mum’s face.
Wearing a Nirvana shirt, she can be seen walking moving swiftly down the corridor before disappearing from the camera.
She was then seen walking in the opposite directions before allegedly firing the three shots at mum Ashley that killed her.
Just moments later, Gregg was seen sitting on a chair inside the kitchen and texting people while her two dogs watched her from beside.
Investigating authorities claim the teen girl used her mum’s phone to text one of her pals, requesting them to come over to the house due to an “emergency”.
And when the friend finally arrived at her place, Gregg allegedly asked them if they had even seen a dead body before taking them near her mother’s corpse, WLBT reports.
Gregg is also said to have texted her stepfather Heath to lure him home before allegedly attempting to kill him.
One of the text messages reportedly read: “When will you be home, honey?”
And when Heath came back home, Gregg allegedly fired shots at him – and one of the bullets struck his shoulder.
Heath had to “wrestle” and fight Gregg to get the gun off her, a court heard.
He said: “When I opened the door to the kitchen, the gun went off in my face before the door was three or four inches wide open.
“The gun flashed in my face. It went off two more times, but my hand was on the gun after the first shot, and I twisted it from Carly.
“I knew that [my wife] had been shot, there was blood around.”
Gregg is now being trialled in a court in Mississippi where the harrowing CCTV footage was played.
She has been charged with murder, attempted murder and evidence tampering, and faces a life sentence if found guilty.
She is understood to have turned down a 40-year plea deal with her legal team and is pursuing an insanity defence.
The court heard how Gregg smoked marihuana at least until a day before the horror incident.
Dr. Andrew Clark, a medical psychiatrist, told the court that Gregg was “blacked out” on the day she allegedly killed her mother.
He said Gregg told him how she had “auditory hallucinations” for years” – but added that someone in Gregg’s position could also “fake” a mental illness.
