A HORROR video shows the moment a shark attack victim is pulled from the water after four were injured in a series of savage shark attacks on the Fourth of July.

The ocean predator struck four times in the resort town of South Padre Island, Texas, on Thursday, cops and the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The dramatic clip shows the aftermath of one of the four attacks on the barrier island, off the southern coast of Texas.

The one-minute-long video shows the woman lying on the sand while the predator swims back and forth near the shoreline.

Rescuers rush to her aid, as they try and stem the bleeding from a wound on her leg.

Blood can be seen in the waves as the victim appears to be in shock following the attack.

The woman is thought to have suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital – her condition is currently unknown.

Officials said the attacks took place at around 11am near a popular beach bar.

Following the Fourth of July rampage, patrols were put in place by boat and helicopter to protect beachgoers.

Texas Parks and Wildlife, who run the beach, confirmed that a man was also “severely bitten in the leg and taken to hospital – making the female swimmer one of four Independence Day shark attack casualties.

They believe the culprit to be a six-foot-long shark, whose two fins are visible in the clip.

Two other people also crossed paths with the shark but they managed to escape without suffering major injuries.

A local police spokesperson said: “Details at this time indicate that two people were bitten and two people encountered the shark but were not seriously injured.

“The two victims who were bitten were transported to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville where one is being treated and the other has been flown out for further treatment.

“Local game wardens and members of the Texas Game Warden Marine Tactical Operations Group assisted in patrolling the beach by boat and land patrol while DPS patrolled the area by helicopter and SPI PD and Cameron County rangers assisted with crowd control on the beach.

“No further details are known at this time.”

They also explained that shark encounters are uncommon in the Texas state.

It comes after the Sun shared exclusive footage of a shark lurking close to swimmers on the same day at one of America’s most dangerous beaches.

Hundreds of Americans travelled to Miami Beach, Florida to celebrate the Fourth of July – and likely didn’t realise how close they were to the creature.

Video obtained by The U.S. Sun revealed the shark swimming not much further out in the ocean than groups of beachgoers.

At one point in the video, two sharks appear swimming in the same area.

It’s unclear what breed was spotted in the water but Miami Beach is known for having several species.

Some sharks that frequent the area include lemon sharks, nurse sharks, Caribbean reef sharks, and the smooth hammerhead.

With the weather heating up, US coastlines will see a surge in beachgoers and sharks, which could spell danger.
