China and Nicaragua sign loan for international airport

Nicaragua signs $430 million loan with China for the construction of Punta Huete International Airport and a gas terminal. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega had a phone call this week. China and Nicaragua reestablished diplomatic relations in 2021. The funds will be used for the Punta Huete International Airport project and the Tres Esferas Project to build a gas terminal. The new airport will enhance connectivity with Asia, Europe, and other regions.
