China on mediation mission to 'bridge' differences between Pak, Iran

China said that it is in frequent contact with Pakistan and Iran to "bridge their differences" after the two countries conducted airstrikes against each other. The strikes have put China in an interesting position because Pakistan is an all-weather friend, yet Iran has warmed up to Beijing in recent years, allowing China to enhance its influence in the West Asia region.
