Conflux Partners China Mobile’s Migu to Launch the World's First Blockchain-Based Video Ringtone

China-based permissionless Layer 1 blockchain, Conflux Network has entered a strategic partnership with China Mobile, the nation’s largest telecom provider.

According to an official announcement today, the partnership will see Conflux and China mobile join efforts together to release the world’s first public blockchain-based digital collectible video ringtone.

Notably, the partnership aims to combine Conflux’s infrastructure with Migu, a specialized subsidiary of China Mobile focused on the mobile internet sector with over 120 million monthly active users. This marks Migu’s first venture into Metaverse and digital collectible applications on a public blockchain network.

Introducing “MIGO and His Friend ConFi” series

While Conflux is committed to connecting decentralized economies across borders and protocols, it will utilize its expertise to launch the new product dubbed the “MIGO and His Friend ConFi” series.

Per the announcement, Conflux will integrate its TreeGraph public blockchain with China Mobile’s digital content division, Migu to launch cutting-edge digital collectibles like video RBTs (Ringback Tones), digital identities (DIDs), and blockchain communication hardware.

Scheduled to launch on August 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM Beijing Time, the series will be available through the “Digital Collectibles” section of the Migu Music App. Notably, the series will integrate real-life landmarks from Hong Kong to tell a story of friendship through captivating visual storytelling.

The announcement further revealed that “MIGO and His Friend ConFi” video ringtones will be sold as mystery boxes, with 5,000 units available at 13.9 RMB (~2 USD) each. Meanwhile, 1% of the total units (i.e 500 units) are rare editions of the digital collectibles.

Notably, users of these video ringtone mystery boxes will enjoy a cutting-edge 5G experience that combines personalization, social interaction, and interactivity. They can view the corresponding video ringtone directly on their phone screens during calls without the need to install additional software.

While Migu boasts 400 million video ringtone users, 25 million digital smart users, over 60 million e-books, and 130+ published books, this new series further enhances the firm.
