While Larry David is hopefully not going anywhere, the “Larry David” story will soon end. HBO has revealed that Season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm will be the final season of the renowned comedy series about Larry David’s mainly unscripted and (hopefully) fictionalized misadventures.
How does Larry’s story end? Presumably, not with him and his friends going to prison, as in David’s much-criticized Seinfeld end, even though that would be the pinnacle of trolling.
If the official trailer of Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 is anything to go by, Larry will leave the same way he entered: whining.
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 | Official Trailer
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 showcases Larry David’s final episodes as Larry David.
The latest trailer begins with Larry trying to seem deep by asking Leon (J.B. Smoove) if he has ever observed how people seem different in the mirror than in photographs before the show’s main character moves on to more awkward scenarios.
Larry may also be shown arguing that he looks fantastic with breast implants and picking up a heated argument with Ted Danson, indicating that he will remain the enjoyable, unpredictable mess he has been throughout the hit comedy series. And the finale of his journey will be full of surprises.
The last season of Curb Your Enthusiasm starts with Larry when Irma (Tracey Ullman) discovers that he stole his grandfather’s shoes, pushing her to resume drinking after a rehabilitation period.
In the meantime, Mary Steenburgen goes on a journey with Alexander Vindman while stealing Leo’s passport.
Larry will have enough difficulties to cope with during the last episodes of the program he has led for two decades as HBO bids farewell to a series that has received 47 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including 10 in the Outstanding Comedy Series genre.
