The war on Gaza enters its 160th day amid the continuation of Israeli massacres, and the worsening hunger crisis as a result of the occupation’s restrictions and the targeting of aid headquarters, despite international warnings.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced in a statement on Thursday, “The number of victims of the Israeli war on the Strip has risen to 31,341 martyrs and 73,134 wounded.”
She pointed out that "the occupation committed 7 massacres in the Gaza Strip within 24 hours, claiming 69 martyrs and 110 injuries."
The Ministry confirmed that "there are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the roads, and the occupation prevents ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them."
Bombing refugee camps
In Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, residents and medical teams were able to recover the bodies of 10 martyrs from Hamad Town, north of the city, following the withdrawal of the occupation forces from it.
Earlier today (Thursday), the bodies of 5 martyrs were recovered from the city.
The occupation boats also fired shells that fell near the tents of the displaced in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis, without any casualties or injuries reported so far.
In the center of the Gaza Strip, the occupation army bombed civilian homes and a humanitarian aid distribution center in the Nuseirat camp and Bureij camp. In the middle of the Gaza Strip, which left 4 martyrs and dozens wounded.
Medical sources announced that 4 Palestinians were martyred and dozens injured in Nuseirat, while 9 martyrs died in Bureij.
The occupation aircraft also bombed a house in the Al-Mughraqa area (central), and another in Madinat Al-Zahraa.
Targeting those waiting for aid
In this context, medical sources said that 7 Palestinians were martyred and 86 others were seriously injured, in a new Israeli targeting of those waiting for aid at the Kuwait Roundabout in Gaza City.
This came after the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that at least one of its employees was killed among 5 martyrs in an Israeli bombing that targeted a food distribution center east of the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
UNRWA said that the attack on one of the few remaining UNRWA distribution centers in the Gaza Strip comes in light of the depletion of food supplies, which has turned into famine in some areas.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philip Lazzarini said that the Israeli attack on the aid distribution center came after the Israeli army received the coordinates of the agency’s facilities, including the targeted facility.
die from hunger
In light of the continuing war and the scarcity of food supplies as a result of Israeli restrictions, the severity of famine in the Gaza Strip is worsening day after day.
The Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" quoted medical sources as saying that two children died as a result of malnutrition, dehydration, and lack of medical supplies, at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Health spokesman also announced the loss of 27 children, as a result of malnutrition and the lack of infant formula in the northern Gaza Strip.
The spokesman said that thousands of children are suffering from serious complications as a result of the unavailability of their milk in the northern Gaza Strip.
He called on UN institutions and children's institutions around the world to provide milk to children in northern Gaza.
It is noteworthy that a UN delegation visited Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, and was informed of the humanitarian conditions and conditions of the wounded there.
The delegation included the Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in Palestine, James McGoldrick, and the Director of UNRWA in Gaza, Scott Anderson.
During the visit, the Humanitarian Coordinator in Palestine, Jamie McGoldrick, said that support and protection must be provided to children in Gaza.
McGoldrick described the targeting of the health system in Gaza as a tragedy, and stressed that "deaths from starvation must stop at a time like this."
