The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced, on Thursday evening, the death and injury of dozens of unarmed civilians who were waiting for humanitarian aid in Gaza City, as a result of Israeli bombing and gunfire from warplanes and drones, on the fourth day of the month of Ramadan.
The Ministry reported in several posts on Telegram that dozens were martyred and injured as a result of the Israeli occupation army targeting a gathering of citizens waiting for humanitarian aid to satisfy their thirst at the Kuwait Roundabout in Gaza City, north of the Strip.
The Ministry said that the death toll from the Kuwait Roundabout massacre who arrived at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City rose to 20 martyrs and 155 injured.
She added that the wounded are lying on the ground in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and the medical teams are unable to deal with the size and type of injuries due to weak medical and human capabilities.
Meanwhile, a martyr and 6 wounded from the Kuwait Roundabout massacre arrived at Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia, as a result of the same massacre, according to the ministry.
Regarding the details of the massacre, the ministry said, “What happened at the Kuwaiti roundabout indicates the occupation’s premeditated intentions to commit a new, horrific massacre.”
While the process of recovering the martyrs and evacuating the wounded is still continuing despite the difficult field situation at the roundabout, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry expects the number of martyrs to rise due to the seriousness of the injuries reaching Gaza hospitals.
For its part, Hamas said in a statement via Telegram that Israel committed a new massacre against unarmed civilians while they were waiting for relief aid at the Kuwait Roundabout in Gaza City, which led to dozens of martyrs and wounded.
She added, "The failure of the international community to take action against Israel constitutes a green light to commit more crimes within the framework of the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing against the people of Palestine, with the full support of the American administration."
Hamas held the administration of US President Joe Biden responsible for Israel's continued massacres in Gaza.
The United Nations and the League of Arab States called for urgent intervention to stop this genocide and bring in aid through land crossings.
This is not the first time that the Israeli occupation army has targeted Palestinian civilians while they were waiting for aid in Gaza City, as the most recent targeting resulted in the death of a number of Palestinians and the injury of others last Monday while they were waiting for aid trucks near the Kuwait roundabout as well.
Four people were also martyred and an unspecified number were injured as a result of a bombing by Israeli fighter jets on an aid distribution center in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, according to witnesses.
The Israeli occupation has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, leaving tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction, which led to Tel Aviv being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of “genocide.”
