Dramatic moment motorists try to rescue family from burning EV after horror crash before flames engulf car killing three

THIS is the horrific moment bystanders tried to smash open the windows of a burning electric vehicle after a crash on a busy highway.

The electric AITO SUV exploded into a fireball after the smash, killing three members of the same family inside including a 2-year-old boy.

Heartbreaking footage shows desperate motorists trying to break the family out as the front of the car goes up in flames.

The car, wrecked on a busy highway in Yuncheng, northern China, appeared to have smashed head-on into a truck.

A firefighter and bystander could be seen reaching into the back window after trying to smash open the door before the explosion hit.

The motor was reportedly travelling at 115km per hour at the time of the smash.

Local authorities are now investigating the incident along with the electric car manufacturer.

The family had bought the Huawei AITO M7 just three months before the horror smash.
