The government media office in Gaza revealed that there are more than one million cases of infectious diseases as a result of the displacement of citizens, due to the ongoing Israeli war on the Strip for more than six months.
The government media office in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Monday that there are more than one million cases of infectious diseases as a result of displacement in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war for more than half a year.
The office reported in an update on the most important statistics of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip that there were: “One million and 89 thousand cases of infectious diseases due to displacement, and 8 thousand cases of epidemic hepatitis.”
During the war, the Israeli occupation forced most of the Palestinians in the northern and central Gaza Strip to flee to the city of Rafah, bordering Egypt.
The media office indicated that there are "10,000 cancer patients facing death and in need of treatment, and 11,000 seriously injured people who need to travel for treatment to save their lives."
He explained that the occupation forces "committed 2,941 massacres inside the Gaza Strip" since October 7.
He stressed that the war left “140 martyrs of journalists, 65 martyrs of civil defense, 485 martyrs of medical personnel, and 7,000 people missing,” explaining that 17,000 children live without their parents or without one of them.
Regarding the victims of the famine that struck areas in the Gaza Strip, the office said that “30 children were martyred due to famine,” in addition to “60,000 pregnant women who are at risk due to the lack of health care.”
Earlier Monday, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from the Israeli war on the Strip had risen to 33,207 dead and 75,933 wounded since last October 7.
