Eight Laos hostel staff arrested over poisoning deaths of Brit & 5 other backpackers after drinking ‘methanol shots’

POLICE Have arrested several members of staff from the Laos hostel that has been suspected of handing out methanol laces shots that killed six people.

Eight employees at the Nana Backpacker hostel in Van Vieng were taken into custody on Monday.

A British tourist and five others died just hours after taking free shots at the party hostel.

The eight detained workers are reportedly believed to be Vietnamese nationals.

The manager and bartender at the hostel Duong Duc Toan was investigated by local police after several tourists were hospitalised.
