And he revealed he dreamed of Britain’s “spectacular scenery” while watching a documentary about Shakespeare in his high-security prison.
He recalled: “I was filled with this wonderful, uplifting feeling, this sense of inspiration for this fantastic culture.
“And it was then I knew that when I get released, it is not Austria I want to stay, rather I want to emigrate to the UK.
“Above all I want to roam free on the wild Highlands of Scotland.”
He added in his interview: “For me the lush green fields of Wales are also very, very appealing. But the main thing is — it’s to the United Kingdom that I am headed.”
The businessman began molesting Elisabeth when she was 11. He later imprisoned her in Amstetten.
Three of the kids he fathered lived in the cellar with Elisabeth, three lived upstairs, while another died.
He was exposed in 2008 and jailed the following year aged 73 for rape, incest, enslavement, false imprisonment and murder by negligence.
However Austria allows prisoners to apply for release after 15 years. A court recently ruled he could be freed — but it was then reversed.
Fritzl will be required to undergo tests to ensure he poses no risk.
The Home Office said it will bar “by law” anyone who has “received a custodial sentence of 12 months or more”.
