Today, Saturday, the families of Israeli detainees in Gaza denounced the expansion of the military operation in the city of Rafah, south of the Strip, considering that it means abandoning their living relatives.
A relative of the detainees said in a press conference organized by their families near the Ministry of Defense headquarters in the Kirya area in Tel Aviv: “Expanding the operation in Rafah means abandoning the living kidnapped people.”
He added: “Yesterday we were informed that the bodies of 3 detainees were found (in Rafah, according to the Israeli occupation army’s claim), and more soldiers fell last week in the Gaza Strip, and we say to the Military Cabinet: We must rescue everyone immediately.”
He called for the return of the detainees who are still alive, and the bodies to be brought to be buried in Israeli graves, stressing that "the only way to do this is through the deal."
Another relative of a detainee in Gaza said: “Netanyahu deliberately uses pressure tools and sticks in the wheels of negotiations for political considerations... Netanyahu’s government has abandoned the detainees and their blood.”
Meanwhile, Hebrew media reported that thousands of Israelis demonstrated in Tel Aviv, Caesarea, and other cities, to demand the conclusion of an exchange deal.
