Five-month-old baby killed & several injured after pedestrians ‘hit by car’ in horror crash at popular holiday hotspot

A BABY has been killed and several people – allegedly including Brits tourists – have been injured after being mowed down by a car in Lanzarote.

The vehicle mounted the pavement in the popular resort of Playa Blanca at around 6.30pm local time.

A five-month-old baby was killed, while two female victims were seriously injured and another three people were hurt.

Local reports allege that some of the victims are British tourists, but local police have not yet confirmed their nationalities.

Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the scene.

It is understood that the driver of the car told police she had suffered a steering problem.

A full investigation is underway.
