Foods that cause migraines

Russian neurologist Anastasia Tarasova warned that migraine attacks may be caused by some foods that people eat without being aware of the negative effects they have on health.
Regarding the issue, the doctor said: “To avoid migraine attacks, you must be careful not to eat some foods that cause irritation to the nervous system, and foods that may cause headache attacks include bacon, sausages, and some types of processed meat.”

She added: "There are many types of cheese that may cause these problems as well, as well as smoked meat and fish, some types of nuts and legumes, sauerkraut, and wine. These substances cause headache attacks because they contain tyramine."

The doctor pointed out that tyramine is a natural chemical compound that is formed from the decomposition of the amino acid tyrosine, and this compound leads to constriction of blood vessels in the brain, which causes headache attacks.

According to the doctor, migraine attacks may also be caused by products that contain caffeine, and those who suffer from this problem are advised to stay away from alcoholic drinks, citrus fruits, and tropical fruits.

Tarasova noted the need to stay away from stressors, and warned that hunger can sometimes cause migraine attacks.
