The amount of electronic waste in Africa could reach nearly 72 million tons by 2030, according to the UN. Many countries, however, are not prioritising electronic waste disposal. In Benin, there are no official organisations collecting and processing e-waste, as FRANCE 24’s team on the ground reports.
