Six Palestinians, including a child and two women, were martyred, and others were injured, yesterday evening, Sunday, as a result of an Israeli warplane bombing a residential building in Gaza City.
In a statement, the Civil Defense Service in the Gaza Strip said: “Our crews in the Gaza Governorate were able to recover 6 martyrs, including a child and two women, one of them with her fetus, and a number of wounded, as a result of the occupation aircraft bombing a residential building in Gaza City.”
He added: "The four-storey residential building belongs to the Al-Arair family, in the currency market area, Gaza." The Civil Defense did not specify the number of injured people, nor did it mention the nature of their injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bombing of the residential building led to a huge explosion being heard across Gaza City, and a large dust cloud erupting as a result of the building’s destruction.
Witnesses explained that the martyrs and injured were transferred to Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, and that medical teams and civil defense continue to search for victims and injured.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a war on Gaza that has left more than 121,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.
Israel continues its war despite a decision by the UN Security Council to stop it immediately, and orders from the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip, and to take measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the miserable humanitarian situation in Gaza.
