The Israeli occupation army continued its devastating aggression against Gaza and its targeting of hospitals, and the government media office in the Gaza Strip announced today (Wednesday) that the governorates of Gaza and the northern Gaza Strip had completely stopped providing health services in light of the Israeli aggression against the system.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today (Wednesday) that the number of victims of the Israeli war had risen to “35,709 martyrs and 79,990 injuries” since last October 7.

In light of the ongoing war for the 229th day, the Ministry of Health said in its daily report that the Israeli occupation committed 6 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, of which 62 martyrs and 138 wounded arrived at hospitals during the past 24 hours.

She stated that there are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.

Hospital siege for the fourth day

On Wednesday, and for the fourth day, the Israeli occupation army continued to besiege the "Al Awda Hospital" in the town of Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, and prevented the entry and exit of medical personnel.

The acting director of the hospital, Muhammad Salha, said that the occupation army prevents ambulances from transporting the wounded to Al Awda Hospital.

He added: "No one can enter or leave it (the hospital), as everyone who moves is shot."

Eyewitnesses confirmed the presence of a number of doctors and injured people in the hospital, who were having difficulty leaving due to the Israeli forces deployed in the area.

This is the second time that Al Awda Hospital in Jabalia has been besieged, as the occupation besieged it for 18 days in December.

Since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the army has been deliberately targeting Gaza’s hospitals and the health system, putting many hospitals out of service, putting the lives of the sick and wounded at risk.

For days, clashes have been escalating between the Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation army in the axes of the Jabalia refugee camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, and east of the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Departure of health services in two governorates

In turn, the government media office in Gaza warned in a statement that the cessation of health services in the Gaza and northern governorates portends “an imminent humanitarian catastrophe threatening 700,000 people.”

He added: "The occupation continues to destroy all aspects of life for our Palestinian people, most importantly the right to treatment and medicine, as the occupation continues to target the health sector and hospitals in a systematic and sabotaging manner."

He continued: "The governorates of Gaza and North Gaza are completely out of health service, and are no longer able to even provide secondary medical services, after Kamal Adwan Hospital went out of service, and Al Awda Hospital was besieged for the fourth day in a row."

The government media office confirmed, "Primary care, maternity and childhood services, and child vaccination have been halted due to the continued ground incursion into the northern Gaza Strip for the twelfth day in a row."

He called for the necessity and importance of providing urgent support from field hospitals, medical delegations, medicines, and fuel to the Gaza and North Gaza governorates to ensure the provision of the minimum and reasonable amount of medical service and health care as much as possible.

He also called on the international community and international and international organizations to "protect the health system and its personnel and enable it to continue its work instead of being targeted, killed, pursued, and arrested by the occupation."

Since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the army has deliberately targeted Gaza’s hospitals and the health system, putting many of them out of service, putting the lives of the sick and wounded at risk.

On May 11, the Israeli occupation army demanded the immediate displacement of all residents and displaced persons in the areas of Jabalia, the neighborhoods of Al-Salam, Al-Nour, Tal Al-Zaatar, the Beit Lahia project, the Jabalia camp, Ezbet Mlin, and the neighborhoods of Al-Rawda, Al-Nuzha, Al-Jarn, Al-Nahda, and Al-Zuhur, and to move toward “shelter” in areas west of the city. Gaza.

Israel continues the war despite the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and despite the International Court of Justice demanding immediate measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
